Will I be able to keep my belly on/navel piercing as a lifeguard?

Are belly on or navel piercings against lifeguard protocol? I work at my community pool as lifeguard. I worked last year too, but I did not have my belly on pierced then. We wear two piece bathing suits, but there is an option of a one piece bathing suit. Also do you know where to find a really discrete belly on ring in hopes that my manager won't notice (unlikely, but I can still try.) Is it possible that I could just take my piercing out while I work or will it close? (I pierced it at the very beginning of February 2009.)
