How to get the part of Danny Zuko?

I am thinking about auditioning for the part of Danny Zuko for my city's local musical(Grease). Is 13 too young to play Danny Zuko? And what are some good songs that I can use in my audition that won't end up embaring myself. I am between a Tenor and a Baritone but I can do both. Also what are some tips I can use to hopefully help with my audition? This is my first time singing and not dancing. =)
